Thoughts and Feelings Shape the Psyche

Thoughts and feelings shape the psyche, which – along with healthy food – shapes the body and its health and posture … In fact, people cannot prevent their bodies from reacting with such changes, but they can help them to maintain or regain a healthy balance by improving their mental and emotional state, as positive thoughts and feelings have a positive effect on the mind and body and all its organs. Even if people only act as if they are happy, they can boost their immune system. Our thoughts, feelings and psyche have a great influence on our body. One study found that writing down the most upsetting events in life in a diary leads to an increase in the body’s defenses. Self-help groups, in which people talk to others about their thoughts, feelings and problems, can also be supportive and strengthen the body’s defenses. Exchanges in a self-help forum can also be helpful. The advantage of self-help forums is that they encourage personal initiative. However, it is absolutely unrealistic to always want to be in a positive and happy mood, because the truth is that the human immune system is designed in such a way that occasional negative thoughts and feelings are not able to unbalance it. But basically, there is a lot that people can do to avoid getting ill in the first place. And if they are ill, they can do a lot themselves to get well again. When we feel good and relaxed inside, our immune system is also strong and active. A positive mood can therefore protect people from flu and many other illnesses in which a weak immune system plays a key role. The immune and hormone system reacts to the psyche, which is controlled by thoughts and feelings, whereby these also influence the last cell of the body and the body’s defenses, strengthening or weakening them depending on the mood. If people are optimistic, they can cope better with stress and have fewer stress hormones in their bodies. In addition, the chances of recovery are also greater if the person is mentally and psychologically focused on recovery and looks to the future with confidence. Positive thoughts and feelings have a major positive influence on mental and physical well-being. Whenever a person becomes physically ill, it is therefore important for their recovery that they take positive steps to improve their mental, emotional and psychological state. Negative thoughts and feelings such as fear and anger etc. weaken the immune system and the body’s defenses enormously in the long term, and the risk of contracting infectious diseases such as flu is many times higher, while wounds heal worse and more slowly. Under severe stress, especially grief, the oxygen in the blood can be reduced by up to 40 percent. As a result, the cells are less well supplied and are less able to regenerate. This can also lead to joint inflammation. The body reacts to the influence of mental and emotional images, resulting in corresponding physical reactions. And this happens because the body does not know – nor does the brain – whether these ideas correspond to reality and truth or not, i.e. whether they are imagination or reality. This decision can only be made by the mind and reason if the thoughts and feelings are accordingly geared towards fathoming the effective truth and comprehending the results arising from it. And since thoughts and feelings have a tremendous influence on the body and its condition, it is influenced and controlled accordingly, either negatively or positively. So this happens in both good and bad ways, meaning that something can have a life-affirming or life-negating effect and influence body language in one way or another. As the body is strongly influenced by thoughts and feelings, it is necessary to focus everything on building self-confidence, self-esteem and appropriate self-worth, which also leads to a confident posture. Basically, thoughts and feelings as well as the psyche, consciousness and the whole body are naturally geared towards communicating with each other, being helpful to each other and living in harmony with each other. And if people pay attention to this and act accordingly in terms of their thoughts and feelings, then the whole thing leads to more and more positive thoughts and feelings appearing, which means that everything is no longer approached and dealt with in a negative way, but in an affirmative way. As a result, thoughts are then focused in such a way that when something needs to be done, the certainty arises: ‘Yes, I can and will do it, and I can actually do it’. According to what has been explained, posture is therefore also a decisive factor in reflecting thoughts and feelings as well as the state of consciousness and psyche. If these factors are changed in a negative or positive way, then the posture also changes and with it the body language, from which – if someone is able to do so as a result of good observation and knowledge of human nature – the mental, emotional, psychological and conscious state can be read. If a person is aware of all these facts and recognizes their reality and truth, then it is only up to their motivation and will to use everything in such a targeted way that their thoughts and feelings stay on the positive path and everything is changed positively, affirmatively and optimistically for their own well-being. The truth of the matter is that thoughts and feelings are also very significantly controlled by posture, so this alone requires great attention to be paid to it. Thus, simply by consciously paying attention to good posture, a good and positive world of thoughts and feelings can be created. And if this happens, a generally better sense of well-being will gradually develop. What is very interesting and important about this body-mind-feeling method is the fact that it is very simple and also works extremely quickly, which is why it is highly recommended as a personal long-term therapy and can be carried out without outside help and also used whenever the mood and situation require it. In order to carry this out, various points can be observed, such as the following fourteen, which generally lead to success when used intensively:
- Take care to relax the body in a good way and make sure that no muscle cramps occur.
- Mindfulness should be paid to breathing in such a way that the breath is calm and slowed down.
- Mindfulness should be cultivated in such a way that breathing in and out is calm.
- Pay attention to maintaining an upright and firm posture.
- Be mindful of shaping your face in a good way by smiling and being friendly.
- Pay attention to maintaining a good and friendly mood with the same thoughts and feelings.
- Pay attention to speech by speaking with a firm, confident and strong voice.
- Attention should be paid to maintaining an upright and confident posture.
- Pay attention to appearing confident and strong.
- Be mindful of showing an authoritative self-assurance in conversations with others.
- It is important to pay attention to being relaxed and content.
- Be mindful to indulge in liberating laughter at every suitable opportunity.
- It is mindfulness to always appear cheerful and lively.
- Be mindful of being humorous and funny at every suitable opportunity.
With all these mindfulness practices to be followed, long-term positive mental, emotional, psychological and physical changes are brought about. And together with the cultivation of these mindfulnesses, physical exercise and relaxation therapy should also be carried out, such as appropriate gymnastics or walks in the great outdoors: yoga is also recommended, as is useful mental and emotional training in the manner of a personal cognitive approach, which can strengthen the ability to recognize and perceive.
