How can you pay the membership fee and other contributions?
On a further note of interest to potential global members. An easy thing to do to obtain funds needed for your application is to simply go to a large bank near you and convert your currency to Swiss Francs. This can be done easily and with a minimal (if any) charge.
For instance: If Canadian Dollars (CAD) are in question, one may go to a bank and ask for the international exchange area. There you will ask to obtain, for example, 300 Swiss Francs (CHF), and, based on the current daily rate, you will then be asked for "X" amount of Canadian Dollars in return. Depending on the bank, you can usually have the Swiss currency in your hand on the same day, if not in 2-3 days. Many banks can accommodate your needs in this.
Regarding the 'passport photos' it can be said here that many cities and towns can help you with this small chore. Postal Offices, photo shops, pizza parlors, amusement park 'photo booths' etc., can easily help you to create the small black and white photos needed to complete the registration process for your FIGU I.D.
After converting your currency, simply put all required items along with this APPLICATION FORM into a strong envelope and send it through REGISTERED (!) postal letter to the FIGU Semjase-Silver-Star-Center at the address above. Make sure that all information is legible and that you have signed and dated the form. Be absolutely sure to keep your receipt record of the registered letter for future reference if needed. Please allow as many as 14 weeks to receive all written material, I.D., and membership confirmation from the FIGU.
